*Position Requirements* *Qualifications (As per O. Reg. 246/22 under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021):* To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet *one or more* of the following criteria: * *Cook Qualifications ? Required under Section 78 of O. Reg. 246/22:* * A certificate of qualification as a *Cook* issued under the _Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009_; * A diploma or certificate in *Chef Training* or *Culinary Management* from a college established under the _Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002_ or a private career college registered under the _Private Career Colleges Act, 2005_; * A diploma from a program that includes instruction in food service and nutrition and has been approved by the Director (Ministry of Long-Term Care); * Or has been working as a cook in a long-term care home for at least 3 years during the 5 years immediately before July 1, 2022. * *Safe Food Handling Certificate* ? Valid and current. *Additional Requirements:* * Clear Vulnerable Sector Check. * Proof of Immunization * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. * Experience working in a long-term care or healthcare setting is considered an asset. *Key Responsibilities* * Report to the Food Services Manager and/or Administrator. * Prepare and serve meals according to standardized menus, ensuring portions, texture, temperature, and timeliness meet requirements. * Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. * Follow established policies, procedures, and work assignments. * Set up and prepare items such as beverages, salads, and desserts. * Take meal orders from residents as needed * Set dining tables and prepare tray service as required. * Clean dishware and cutlery after each meal seating. * Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. * Check and serve residents according to their special diet orders. * Take inventory of food and supplies as needed. * Attend staff meetings, in-service education sessions, and workshops. * Ensure compliance with fire, safety, and infection control protocols. * Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Risk Management programs, including audits and reports. * Maintain professional and accurate record-keeping/documentation. * Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote a healthy work culture *Additional Requirements* * Awareness of infection control policies and procedures. * Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety standards. * Uphold professionalism, personal development, and attendance standards. *Benefits* * Benefits available after six months of service. * Pay Rate will start from $22.84 per hour after probation period of 375 hours it will be $24.51 per hour Pay: From $22.84 per hour Benefits: * Extended health care * On-site parking Ability to commute/relocate: * Puslinch, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: * cooking: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: * Safe Food Handler Certification (required) Work Location: In person Location Puslinch , ON Work location On site Salary $ 22.84 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10228798779 Various locations Puslinch, ON
