Role Description This full-time, on-site Pharmacist role at Katameya Clinic Hospital in Cairo, Egypt involves dispensing medications accurately according to physician prescriptions and hospital protocols. The Pharmacist reviews and verifies prescriptions for appropriate dosage, potential interactions, and contraindications, and provides clear counseling to patients on proper medication use, side effects, and storage. The role includes monitoring medication inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions, and coordinating with suppliers and the hospital pharmacy team to maintain stock levels. The Pharmacist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support safe and effective medication therapy, participates in medication safety initiatives, and adheres to all regulatory and hospital policies. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining accurate documentation, supporting clinical audits, and contributing to quality improvement activities within the pharmacy department. Qualifications experience at least 1 year Solid knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication safety principles, with the ability to review prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness. Strong patient counseling and communication skills, including the ability to explain medication use, risks, and precautions in a clear, empathetic manner. Attention to detail and high standards for accuracy in dispensing, labeling, and documentation of medications and pharmacy records. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and follow established hospital protocols and procedures. Proficiency in using pharmacy information systems, electronic medical records, and basic computer applications relevant to hospital operations. Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (or Doctor of Pharmacy) from an accredited institution; valid pharmacist license/registration in Egypt. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred, especially in Cairo or similar healthcare environments. Commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and adherence to local regulatory requirements and professional standards.
