Your Job: Join our team as a Test Engineer in Guadalajara, where you will play a key role in supporting and developing the test area to ensure operational continuity, efficiency, and technical excellence. In this role, you will directly contribute to keeping production lines running, troubleshooting issues, and driving improvements through data-driven analysis and technical expertise. Build robust, scalable test systems that ensure product quality, accelerate time-to-market, and enable confident high-volume manufacturing. You will develop and maintain test infrastructure, drive data-driven improvements, and support cross-functional readiness for product launch. Our Team: You will be part of the OPTO division working closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Engineering to transfer and scale testing strategies into production. The team focuses on reliable test execution, continuous improvement, and ensuring testability across product lifecycles. Support Design for Testability (DFT) and influence product design to improve testability and manufacturability. Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and product engineering to ensure seamless product launch readiness and test transfer to high-volume manufacturing with robust documentation and training. Create and deliver statistical reports and analyses (Pareto charts, box plots, Cpk calculations, pivot tables) to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement. Lead root-cause analysis for test escapes, yield issues, and equipment challenges and implement corrective actions. Own and run daily production/scrap meetings and participate in escalation calls at any time as needed. Maintain and manage spare parts activities: obtaining quotes, purchasing, and following up on multiple items to keep equipment running. Ensure test equipment uptime and reliability (FT knowledge to keep equipment alive 100% of the time). Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces and ensure proper use of personal protection equipment in production areas. This position requires full-time on-site presence. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications): Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering. Strong English communication skills (approximately 90% English proficiency required). Experience with statistical data analysis and reporting (Pareto, box plots, Cpk, pivot tables). Able and willing to attend escalation calls outside normal hours when required. What Will Put You Ahead: Demonstrated experience transferring test processes into high-volume manufacturing with documented training packages. Hands-on experience maintaining test equipment and managing spare parts lifecycle. Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and implement corrective/preventive actions that improve yield. Experience working in an OPTO or semiconductor-like manufacturing environment. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
