Role Overview The Equipment Engineering role supports Manufacturing Operations by ensuring equipment availability, reliability, capability, and continuous improvement in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and other support teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. Provides technical support for equipment uptime, troubleshooting, maintenance effectiveness, and continuous improvement. This role is expected to independently execute assigned engineering tasks, resolve equipment issues, and support improvement projects under general direction. Key Responsibilities Ensure assigned manufacturing equipment is maintained, qualified, and capable of supporting production requirements. Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and recurrence. Implement equipment improvement projects focused on reliability, uptime, yield, cycle time, cost, safety, and manufacturability. Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, setup validation, and release to production as applicable. Troubleshoot equipment failures and support timely restoration of equipment to production-ready condition. Analyze downtime, alarms, defects, equipment performance trends, and maintenance findings to identify corrective actions. Execute equipment-related improvement projects, qualifications, conversions, setup validations, and documentation updates. Coordinate with technicians, production teams, process engineers, vendors, and support groups to close technical issues. Support preventive maintenance optimization, spare parts review, equipment checklist improvements, and standard work compliance. Prepare concise technical summaries, engineering reports, and updates for stakeholders. Create, review, and maintain equipment documentation such as work instructions, checklists, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and engineering reports. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure timely closure of action items. Promote compliance with safety, EHS, quality, change control, and manufacturing standards. Provide technical support to production teams during line issues, equipment excursions, and improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer, or related Engineering discipline. Experience in equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related semiconductor/electronics manufacturing function is preferred. Working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, statistical/problem-solving methods, and continuous improvement tools. Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and analytical skills. Willingness to support manufacturing operations, including shifting schedule, on-call support, or extended coverage when business needs require. Typically requires relevant experience in equipment engineering, maintenance, process support, or manufacturing operations. Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems using structured approaches, engineering judgment, data, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Experience with semiconductor, electronics, automation, test, assembly, or similar manufacturing equipment is an advantage.
