The Global Risk Intelligence & Technology (GRIT) team supports Financial Risk Digital Enablement (FRDE), a global function that delivers foundational risk programs and insights for managing Market, Liquidity, Model, and Reinsurance Credit Risks across Manulife. We are seeking a Director, Reporting, Advanced Analytics and Automation (RAA) to provide strategic and technical leadership in advancing financial risk reporting, analytics, automation, and AI capabilities, translating complex risk and business challenges into innovative solutions that support enterprise risk oversight and informed decision-making. Reporting to Global Head of Reporting, Advanced Analytics and Automation (RAA), the Director’s responsibility will be to deliver ongoing enhancements to reporting and analytics in support of the Market, Liquidity, Model, and Reinsurance Credit Risks risk management programs. This includes automation and preparation of ongoing established reports and ad-hoc requests for delivery to the Company’s Chief Risk Officer, executive and Board risk committees, support in building GenAI practices and engines for risk intelligence and any corresponding data related processes. The incumbent will work primarily with Group Financial Risk and other functions across the Company. This role sits at the intersection of data, technology, governance, and operations. You will collaborate with partners across actuarial, finance, risk, and engineering to streamline reporting processes, reinforce controls, and evolve our analytics ecosystem using tools such as Power Platform, Azure Databricks, and emerging GenAI capabilities. Key Responsibilities Position Responsibilities: Drive the advancement of risk intelligence capabilities, championing innovative approaches to monitoring, forecasting, and communicating financial risk insights to senior management and governance committees. Execute the design and delivery of executive-level dashboards, analytics platforms, and self-service capabilities that provide timely, actionable insights and enhance risk-based decision making. Provide thought leadership in the adoption of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and GenAI, identifying opportunities to transform risk reporting, automate processes, improve data quality, and enhance operational effectiveness. Establish and promote best practices for data governance, controls, model transparency, and risk management, ensuring all reporting and analytics solutions meet enterprise standards and regulatory expectations. Lead a high-performing team of analytics, reporting, and automation professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, continuous learning, and stakeholder-centric delivery. Drive continuous improvement and modernization of financial risk technology solutions, balancing strategic transformation initiatives with operational resilience, platform sustainability, and evolving business needs. Required Qualifications: 8-10+ years of relevant experience in any of the fields in market and liquidity risk analytics for fixed income portfolios, automation, digital transformation, or investment risk technology functions. Proven track record supporting financial risk management and reporting based on global life insurance accounting and regulatory capital frameworks, including IFRS 17, IFRS 9, LICAT, NAIC and HKRBC. Advanced proficiency in Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, with experience designing enterprise-grade solutions. Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise-scale dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, including advanced DAX, Power Query, and data modeling techniques, with experience integrating and analyzing data from Azure Databricks and other cloud-based data platforms. Demonstrated experience building low-code and pro-code applications, workflow automations, and integrated business solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate. Experience designing, deploying, or supporting AI-powered solutions, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Agentic AI, AI agents, or similar intelligent automation platforms. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages for data analysis, automation, system integration, and advanced analytics use cases. Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and influence adoption across multiple functions. Proven ability to lead end-to-end solution delivery, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous innovation through analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
