WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM The Engineering Management team is responsible for leading and executing engineering activities across all projects within the Power Transmission business group. The team ensures successful technical delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle, from tender support and project planning to engineering execution, installation, and project close-out. As part of this team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, manufacturing units, clients, and global stakeholders to deliver technically complex, high-impact projects. The workplace is primarily Halden or Oslo , with flexibility for partial home office. You will report to the Department Manager, Engineering Management . GETTING A FLYING START To succeed in this role, you enjoy solving complex technical challenges while coordinating multiple engineering disciplines in large-scale project environments. You are comfortable balancing technical leadership, stakeholder management, and project execution while ensuring engineering activities are delivered according to contractual, technical, and operational requirements. Nexans’ subsea cable systems play a critical role in connecting nations, enabling offshore renewable energy, and building tomorrow’s sustainable power infrastructure. In this role, you will help push technological boundaries by delivering innovative engineering solutions that support the global energy transition. HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT As Engineering Manager – Projects , you will act as the technical lead and primary engineering point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring successful system delivery throughout the full project lifecycle. You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed according to project timelines, budgets, quality requirements, contract specifications, and international standards. You will manage technical interfaces across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, procurement, installation teams, external suppliers, and clients, ensuring the overall technical solution is optimized throughout the project execution process. You will support project execution from early tender phase through project establishment, engineering execution, risk management, change management, installation support, and final project close-out, while maintaining compliance with Nexans’ internal standards and Project Execution Model. In addition, you will provide leadership to project teams by allocating resources effectively, facilitating collaboration, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting competence development, and promoting a strong Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) culture across the organization YOUR STARTING POINT WHEN YOU JOIN • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline • 5-10 years experience managing engineering activities in complex project environments, preferably within offshore, energy, infrastructure, marine, or industrial projects • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering execution, technical interfaces, and project delivery throughout the full project lifecycle • Experience working with project execution models, contract management, risk management, technical documentation, and engineering quality standards • Ability to manage technical stakeholders, coordinate cross-functional teams, and lead engineering activities within budget and schedule constraints • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments • Fluent in English and Norwegian , written and spoken • Personal values aligned with Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United OUR GROWTH CULTURE At Nexans, our growth culture is built on trust, collaboration, and continuous development.
