COOKS $28.00 - $32.00 per hour Permanent/ Full-time Cooks x 2 – Bakehaven Cafe 149F Kirkbride Road, Mangere, Auckland 2022, NZ. Remuneration / Hours of Work: $28.00 - $32.00 p/hr, full-time permanent position. Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 per week; hourly rate plus holiday pay and paid sick leave. Max hours: not exceeding 50 hours per week. EXPERIENCED COOKS required. Ideal candidates must have a positive work attitude to deal with customers from all walks of life such as crew members , airport staff, tradespersons - from various nationalities; knowledge and experience in using cooking equipment, know how to prepare, season and cook food in a cafe, dining and catering establishment. Food safety is priority. Skills must include: Cooking and preparing dishes within timeframe. Should be able to cook using meat and seafood Should be able to load, unload, de-pan, cool, empty, clean, cooking trays and other cooking equipment Keep clean and well maintained all equipment Excellent hand to eye coordination Clear team communication Food handling and hygiene Follow the Roster, start and finish on time Prioritize food safety Must be able to deal with customers in a friendly and outgoing manner Applicants must have : At least 3 years of relevant experience working as a Cook or Café Cook in a commercial setting OR a NZ Level 4 qualification in Cooking or Culinary Arts plus 1 yr experience Business hours: Mon - Fri: 6:00am – 5:00pm Sat - Sun: 7.00am - 5:00pm Rostered work over 6 days will be between these hours: Monday to Sunday: between 3.00am – 5:00pm Job description - Duties and Responsibilities Checking quality of raw ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure qualify and freshness Regulating temperatures of ovens grills and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food Seasoning food during cooking Portioning food, placing it on plates and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements May plan menus and estimate food requirements May assist or train kitchen staff and apprentices Follow work safety procedures Work with a positive attitude and follow company policies Candidates should be a NZ resident or citizen or hold work rights in NZ.
