Head of Finance

About the role This role involves supervising and managing the company's financial operations, including monthly management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation processes. You will oversee the finance team, manage cash flow, liaise with external auditors and tax agents, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. The role also includes supervising the sales support team and overseeing general administrative operations. Key responsibilities Supervise and review the company's monthly management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation of creditors, debtors, and inter-company transactions Prepare and/or review the annual budget Analyse the company's monthly performance, revenue, gross profit, and expenses Manage cash flow, including placement of surplus funds Source and negotiate bank financing when required Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures; recommend improvements to management Review expense approval sheets prior to MD's final approval Ensure adequate internal controls and segregation of duties to safeguard company assets Liaise with external auditors on year-end audits of subsidiary companies, including preparation/review of full sets of financial statements Review and liaise with tax agents on tax computation and submission, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines About you Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred 8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role Strong knowledge of local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements Proficient in Autocount accounting system and advanced Excel Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills Experience managing cross-functional teams (finance and non-finance, e.g. sales support/admin) Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
