Role Overview We are seeking a Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Google Cloud Platform and AI solutions to join our Americas team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems that power AI-driven applications for our enterprise clients in North America. Based in Argentina, you will be a key contributor to the regional engineering team, translating client requirements into high-quality technical deliverables. You will focus on building generative AI features and cloud-native services while collaborating with our global engineering teams in Europe. As a Backend Engineer at Beyond, you'll: Develop Core Logic: Write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient code in Python to support high-scale content platforms and data-intensive applications Implement AI Features: Assist in building and deploying AI features, such as RAG pipelines and LLM integrations using Vertex AI, following established architectural patterns Engineer Cloud Infrastructure: Design and configure scalable backend architectures on GCP, utilizing Cloud Run, GKE, and Cloud Functions with a focus on performance and observability Contribute to Technical Design: Participate in the creation of Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and help translate business requirements into functional backend components Deploy & Automate: Manage the full lifecycle of your code, from local development to production, leveraging Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and robust CI/CD pipelines Collaborate Globally: Work closely with US-based product owners and European delivery teams, requiring a proactive communication style and flexibility for early-morning syncs Ensure Quality: Champion best practices in API design, security, and automated testing to ensure the reliability of enterprise-level deployments Things that will make you stand out: Engineering Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in backend development, with a focus on web services and API design Python Expertise: Mastery of the Python ecosystem (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) and experience with asynchronous programming GCP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, specifically App Engine, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL AI/ML Integration: Proven experience integrating LLMs into applications and an understanding of vector databases (e.g., Vertex Vector Search, Pinecone) DevOps Skills: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform Communication: Fluent English skills with the ability to discuss technical trade-offs clearly with both peers and stakeholders Nice to Have AI Frameworks: Experience with LangChain or LlamaIndex Data Engineering: Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes to support AI model training and retrieval CMS Familiarity: Experience working with headless CMS architectures or Digital Experience Platforms (DXP) Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer What we want from you: We are building a world-class delivery centre in Buenos Aires and want the best engineering talent in the region. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
