Job Description Job Description As a member of Haskins' accounting team, you will be providing support in a wide range of finance, accounting, and human resources functions. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player who is detail oriented and can meet the demands of a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. This position provides room to grow and expand on job responsibilities. Responsibilities may include: Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts payable. Including maintaining vendor accounts, processing of supplier invoices and payments. Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts receivable. Including maintaining customer accounts, cash receipts, collections, and some invoicing. Collaborate with other departments as needed to resolve any accounts payable or receivable issues. Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations - reconciliation of the bank statement against the GL and reconciliation of any assigned clearing accounts. Responsible for journal creation for bank account transactions. Maintain proper records and documentation. Responsible for preparing and filing of HST, QST, and WSIB. Provide support to the Comptroller in other accounting functions, including but not limited to month-end and year-end reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. Participate in special projects as needed. Identify and escalate potential issues with recommendations to the Corporate Comptroller. Adaptability to changing duties and responsibilities. Work with Comptroller on Human Resources functions, including but not limited to onboarding new employees, maintaining employee files / documentation, and benefits administration. Vacation, sick and other leave tracking. Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, including adding and updating employee information in a 3rd party program. General office administration duties.
