Production Shift Manager

Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Durban, is looking to fill the position of Production Shift Manager. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support the production team leaders and other plant personnel. Leads continuous improvement in line with LSS and 5S principles. Produce final products according to the production schedule and fully exploit opportunities to improve production efficiency and quality. Ensures the highest standards of SHE is maintained throughout the site and works with the team to continually improve performance. Ensures any product non-conformity is reported immediately and assists in the root cause analysis. Ensures, through routine monitoring and auditing that the plant and equipment is in safe and efficient working order and works with engineering to ensure any issues are addressed promptly Audit all daily and weekly checks. Carries out accident and incident investigation relating to their shift and areas of responsibility. Responsible for writing and authorizing Permits-to-Work as and when required. Be accountable for the site in management's absence. Take part and give input in the stock take activities.
