Professional Officer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Professional Officer to lead a comprehensive review and optimisation of job descriptions across the organisation. This role is critical in addressing operational inefficiencies, strengthening compliance, and aligning roles with strategic workforce objectives. Outdated and inconsistent job descriptions have resulted in role ambiguity, recruitment challenges, and misaligned performance management. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising job architecture to support organisational effectiveness and workforce flexibility. Key Responsibilities Conduct a full audit of existing job descriptions across all departments Engage with line managers and leadership to clarify roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines Align job descriptions with Municipal Staffing Regulations Research, report and motivation writing Project administration Create document management system to file and store all new job descriptions and supporting documentation Stakeholder engagement Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field 2 - 8 years' relevant experience, with a strong focus on job evaluation, job design, or organisational development Proven experience in conducting job analysis and developing competency-based job descriptions Knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Key Competencies Strategic thinking Attention to detail Influencing and stakeholder management Mature Desired Skills: Job analysis Research HR Desired Work Experience: 5 to 10 years Desired Qualification Level: Diploma
