Head of Road Freight & IWS

As the Head of Road Freight & IWS, you will have full strategic and operational responsibility for the Road Freight product and IWS business across South Africa and BLNS (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland). This is a senior appointment where you will drive profitability, lead a team, and develop cross-border solutions for key accounts. The Ideal Candidate: ESSENTIAL: Minimum 10 years’ experience in the logistics industry, with a focus on Road Freight ESSENTIAL: At least 8 years of management experience in a reputable Road Freight organization ESSENTIAL: In-depth knowledge of Road Freight product and Integrated Warehousing Solutions ESSENTIAL: Excellent commercial acumen and geographical knowledge of Southern Africa Strong leadership, negotiation, and people management skills are a must A Degree in Business Management or a related field is required Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the business strategy to maximize profit and optimize assets in line with global objectives Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and cost-consciousness Oversee all aspects of operations, including carrier negotiations, traffic management, and cost analysis. Drive business development, identify new customer opportunities, and maintain relationships with key accounts Manage the EBIT result and ensure all operational KPIs are met Oversee the Integrated Warehousing Solutions function, liaising with sales on bids, RFQs, and customer presentations This position is strictly for individuals with a proven track record in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.
