Project Manager: Wi-Fi Refresh Remote 12 month fixed term contract Minimum Requirements Proven technical PM on multi-site network or Wi-Fi rollouts. Experience managing field engineers and/or cabling partners. Strong multi-site planning and scheduling. High-level grasp of SSIDs, 2.4/5/6 GHz, Wi-Fi standards, and the impact of outages on clinical and payment workflows. Strong risk and issue management, calm under pressure on P1s. Excellent written and verbal communication for client updates, change control, and site comms. Highly organised, pragmatic, and commercially aware. Overview of role Our client is refreshing a customer's Wi-Fi: replacing ~750 access points across ~450 UK dental surgeries, standardising onto Cisco/Meraki Catalyst and MR, and capturing survey data for a Phase 2 design. They need a PM to own delivery end to end. This is a multi-site rollout in live clinical environments, so the priority is keeping patient care and payments running while the work [Email Address Removed] role is delivery-heavy and customer-facing. You won't configure networks, but you need to be technically fluent enough to understand issues and communicate them clearly. Responsibilities Own the rollout plan across ~450 sites, including phasing and prioritisation. Act as primary PM contact for the customer. Chair cadence calls, circulate actions, hold the escalation path. Manage scope and change control: rip-and-replace APs, Ekahau validation surveys, and per-site documentation (AP counts, coverage gaps, complexity flags, photos, notes) rather than full install reports in Phase 1. Coordinate the 4-engineer field team and any subcontractors. Where possible, pair the AP swap and survey in one visit, with a follow-up only if drilling or LiDAR capture is needed. Enforce minimal downtime, with particular care around PDQs and chairside 3D scanners. Pre-agree short outage windows and confirm UAT on every site. Work with technical leads on AP pre-staging, like-for-like SSID/config rollout, optional 6 GHz enablement, and firmware checks. Set policy for offline APs, cabling issues, and mounting standards. Agree severity rules (e.g. single-AP site down = P1). Handle H&S, site inductions, and landlord/shopping-centre pre-authorisations with customer. Maintain a RAID log, site-by-site status tracking, and regular reporting to management and customer.
