About the role The Senior Electronics Engineer will work within the NPD Hardware Electronics team. This role will be responsible for the development of advanced heater control systems for consumer appliance products within Dyson’s New Category portfolio. This role will be based in Shenzhen, China. The role requires a highly motivated, creative, methodical and flexible individual with excellent communication skills, who is ready to take on challenges with a pragmatic approach. You will be part of a team of Electronics Engineers working on development projects. Develop and implement heater control solutions for next-generation home appliance products. Define and review control system architectures, block diagrams, and system-level control strategies. Develop dynamic models and transfer functions for thermal control systems. Design, tune, validate, and optimise PI/PID control algorithms. Develop and maintain simulation models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape. Develop embedded control software and algorithms using C/C++. Develop engineering analysis and automation tools using Python. Review MCU firmware architecture, source code implementation, and software quality. Analyse and troubleshoot the interactions between heating systems and airflow motor control systems. Design and review analogue and digital electronic circuits and schematics. Support EMC, safety, reliability, and product validation activities. Develop test methodologies and conduct or drive electronics design verification and product validation testing. Drive JDMs, suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure their production processes meet Dyson requirements. Support reliability and quality engineers with field return analysis, quality improvements and reliability improvements. Provide on-site support and co-location at JDM or supplier workplaces as required. About you Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience, preferably specialising in control systems, embedded electronics, power electronics, or appliance product development. Strong understanding of control theory and closed-loop control systems. Proven experience developing and analysing control system diagrams and architectures. Strong knowledge of transfer functions, Bode plots, frequency-domain analysis, stability analysis, and control loop optimisation. Hands-on experience tuning and validating PI/PID controllers. Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape. Strong programming capability in C/C++ and Python. Experience in MCU firmware development, debugging, and code review. Experience in electronics circuit design and schematic review. Highly self-motivated and a strong team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
