As an IT Security Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for strengthening and protecting our organization's IT environment against evolving cyber threats. You will work closely with infrastructure, software, and operational teams to design, implement, and maintain security controls that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. What is your Day to Day Mission: Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents Develop and enforce security policies in collaboration with internal stakeholders, taking into account industry-specific compliance requirements Perform system hardening and security baseline management for servers, endpoints, and critical infrastructure components. Support the deployment and administration of security solutions such as Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), SIEM, vulnerability management, and identity security platforms. Design, implementation, and operation of firewall infrastructures using Fortinet and Sophos technologies. Manage and improve access control concepts, identity management processes, and privileged access security. Support for audits and certifications in accordance with industry-specific security standards (e.g., BSI Basic Protection, ISO/IEC 27001) IT Collaboration with national and international subsidiaries Investigate emerging threats, evaluate new security technologies, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our cybersecurity posture. Support for user network issues. Create and maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
