About the job You design, develop and maintain custom integrations and APIs for business areas and projects. Your work combines hands-on engineering with production responsibility, and you ensure that each delivery follows standardized patterns for security, logging, monitoring, resilience and error handling. You’re part of the PA Engineering Platforms Integration team and report to the Competence Manager. Job responsibilities Design and develop production-ready APIs and integrations using appropriate synchronous, asynchronous, messaging and event-driven patterns. Build integration logic, APIs and automation components in C#, supported by Bash or PowerShell scripting. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code for repeatable, automated deployments. Implement technical guardrails for authentication, authorization, secrets, certificates, networking, logging, monitoring and policy validation. Own live integrations in production, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, incident resolution and performance improvements. Convert delivery learnings into reusable templates, platform components, runbooks, post-mortems and clear technical documentation. Location This is an on-site position based at Stockholm WTC or Mossvägen in Sandviken. Your profile You’re an experienced software or integration engineer with a strong background in building and operating enterprise integrations. Alongside solid programming skills, you understand how APIs, cloud platforms, deployment automation and production operations fit together to create stable and maintainable solutions. Your background also includes: Hands-on experience developing and maintaining APIs and integrations in production, including API Management and enterprise integration platforms. Strong programming skills in C#, with experience using Bash or PowerShell for deployment and operational automation. Practical knowledge of REST, messaging, asynchronous flows and event-driven integration patterns. Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or similar technologies. Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, observability, resilience, security controls and production support. A post-secondary qualification in IT or computer science is valuable, although equivalent hands-on enterprise experience is equally relevant. You also communicate confidently in English. Methodical and pragmatic, you stay composed when solving incidents and complex technical problems. You take clear ownership, listen closely to business needs and balance delivery speed with platform standards. Collaboration comes naturally, and you share knowledge generously with architects, platform engineers, product stakeholders and other delivery teams. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
