Are you an experienced calculation engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems where accuracy, engineering judgement and technical depth truly matter? Quintus Technologies is looking for a Structure Calculation Engineer to join our Calculation & Furnace team in Västerås. Also referred to as a Stress Analyst, this is a specialist position for an engineer who wants to work with advanced structural calculations, FEA and pressure equipment in an experienced engineering environment. You will work with some of the most critical components in Quintus high-pressure systems and become part of a team with extensive expertise in structural mechanics, pressure vessels and international standards. The role As a Structure Calculation Engineer, you will be responsible for advanced structural calculations within customer and development projects, with a strong focus on pressure vessels and Quintus different press systems. Your responsibilities will include: performing structural, strength and FEA calculations on pressure vessels, frames and other mechanical structures dimensioning forged components and wire-wound structures taking responsibility for structural calculations within projects assessing pressure equipment according to applicable codes and standards, including ASME and PED producing, verifying and reviewing calculation reports and contributing to design certification supporting Production and Quality with technical assessments, non-conformities and structural deviations performing failure analysis when required developing calculation methods, analysis tools, computer codes and related documentation The role is closely connected to product development and you may be involved early in projects when new products, dimensions and technical solutions are evaluated. Who are we looking for? We are looking for an experienced calculation engineer with an M. Sc. or equivalent degree in a relevant engineering discipline, for example Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Applied Mechanics, Structural Mechanics or Technical Physics. Ideally, you have around five years or more of relevant professional experience, although the complexity and content of your previous work are more important than an exact number of years. You have a strong background in structural or strength calculations and experience of FEA. Experience within one or several of the following areas is particularly valuable: ANSYS, Abaqus or other established FEA software pressure vessels or pressure equipment ASME and PED large steel structures or advanced mechanical systems technical verification, calculation reports and design certification Experience with ANSYS and pressure vessels is highly desirable but not mandatory. A strong calculation engineer from another area of heavy industry may be equally relevant. Fluent spoken and written English is required. Swedish is an advantage but not a requirement. Who are you? Accuracy is essential in this position. You are analytical and methodical and understand the responsibility that comes with calculations forming the basis for important engineering decisions. At the same time, you enjoy challenging technical problems and finding new approaches when established solutions are not enough. You value verification, documentation and collaboration and want to continue developing as a technical specialist. The team You will join the Calculation & Furnace organization in Västerås. You will work closely with colleagues within Engineering, Product Management, Quality and Production, as well as project managers and external third-party reviewers.
