The Resident Engineer serves as the chief on-site authority for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include managing field inspection teams, enforcing contract plans and specifications, overseeing project safety and traffic control, and handling daily contract administration. Cost Tracking: Manages the change order process, evaluates claims, and processes monthly payment estimates. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Qualifications: requires either a NICET Level IV certification or 10+ years of experience in heavy highway construction management. System Proficiency: Familiarity with NJDOT or NJTA design standards, Construction Management systems (like Site Manager or Cap Ex), and internal Contract Compliance procedures.
