Your Key Responsibilities Leading the frontend domain for the media transformation from a monolithic SAP Commerce storefront to a composable architecture and the phase afterward Providing technical leadership and daily guidance to frontend engineers, promoting strong engineering practices, code quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning Defining and evolving frontend architecture, design principles, and implementation standards in line with enterprise architecture and target platform strategy Driving the development of scalable, reusable, and maintainable frontend components and features with modern frontend technologies Ensuring robust frontend integration with CMS, APIs, backend services, and other enterprise platforms Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, UX/UI experts, QA, Platform/DevOps, Backend/Integration teams, and external implementation partners Translating business, UX, non-functional, and technical requirements into clear frontend solution designs and implementation guidance Establishing and enforcing frontend best practices for performance, accessibility, SEO, responsive design, observability, maintainability, and security Supporting the implementation partner during the transformation phase while building internal knowledge and ownership within the team Leading frontend technical decisions, documenting architecture and implementation standards, and ensuring clear knowledge transfer and handover Guiding estimation, technical planning, dependency management, and delivery tracking for frontend work across the implementation lifecycle Supporting testing and release readiness by ensuring suitable unit, component, integration, and end-to-end test approaches for frontend solutions Contributing to production rollout preparation, defect resolution, and operational readiness for frontend topics Ensuring the internal team is ready to take over sustainable frontend ownership, enhancement, and support after handover Using Jira and Confluence for delivery management, technical documentation, decision logging, and collaboration across internal teams and implementation partners Providing 2nd- and 3rd-level support for frontend topics after handover Your Qualifications Completed studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Media Informatics, or a comparable field Minimum 8 years of professional experience in frontend engineering, ideally in eCommerce or other customer-facing digital platforms Several years of experience in technical leadership of frontend engineers, including coaching, mentoring, code quality governance, and technical decision-making Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English (min. B2 level) Proficiency in frontend technologies and component-based web application development, such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks Professional experience in designing and building responsive, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions in API-driven environments Good understanding of composable or headless architecture principles and frontend integration with CMS and backend services A proven experience with frontend testing approaches such as unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Storybook, Figma, Jest, Vitest, Playwright, or similar tools is advantageous Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, SEO, maintainability, and quality engineering practices Exposure to agile delivery models and collaboration with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams Experience working with external implementation partners and supporting structured knowledge transfer and handover is advantageous Knowledge of ITIL-based service management and operational support processes is beneficial Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills Our Offer Be a part of a global company & international team with a diverse variety of backgrounds, skills and views. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
