THE ROLE The Hyperscale Control Plane Team at Pure Storage is dedicated to building and maintaining the core infrastructure that supports the Control Plane and Observability infrastructure for products in the Hyperscale line-of-business. This team focuses on various aspects of system observability and control plane functionality, ensuring seamless interaction and high performance within these platforms. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design and develop robust, high-performance, and reliable Control Plane and Observability infrastructure. Build infrastructure to monitor key metrics such as I/O counters, latency, temperature, performance, and errors. Implement control interfaces (REST, CLI) for areas such as system management, drive management, power management, firmware management, encryption management, and LED management. Analyze logs to intelligently determine how to reduce the volume of boot drive logging, and develop infrastructure to support advanced tools like log data recorders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify issues to enhance overall system reliability. Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices within the team. Manage and troubleshoot system logs and data to ensure optimal system performance. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave. WHAT YOU BRING Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field. Advanced degrees are a plus. 3+ years of experience in software development and systems engineering, using languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java. Proficiency in building distributed systems and control plane functionalities. Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus. Familiarity with metrics tracking tools like fb303, scribe, t-digest. Understanding of gRPC or other interprocess communication technologies. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues. Proven design sensibility and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. #LI-ONSITE Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
