Temporary Works Design Engineer Organisation Information: Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke, two of Europe’s most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion. Bylor are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. Bylor have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete. This is great opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation that is challenging the industry and making history. Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities: Design and Development: Create and manage temporary works designs in compliance with BS5975 standards. Collaboration: Work closely with the Delivery Teams and Methods/Temporary Works Design team to develop safe and efficient solutions. Problem Solving: Provide innovative and practical design solutions to support construction activities. Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet required safety and quality standards. Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation and reports (Digital Engineering Team will create drawings and models). Essential skills & knowledge: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Temporary Works Design within the UK. Knowledge: Proficient in BS5975 and BS/EC standards. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a large, multidisciplinary team. Benefits: Professional Development: Opportunities for continuous learning and career advancement.
