About the Role As an AI Engineer at Swiss Re, you'll be at the forefront of developing transformative AI solutions that reshape how we approach complex insurance and reinsurance challenges. You'll collaborate with a diverse, global team across multiple locations including Armonk NY, Zurich, Bangalore, Singapore, Beijing, and Hong Kong, working directly with business experts and external clients to create AI-powered services that drive real business value. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop sophisticated AI solutions including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and other generative AI applications Engineer and optimize prompts for various business use cases, ensuring reliability , accuracy , and performance of AI systems Build end-to-end AI pipelines from data ingestion to model deployment and monitoring in production environments Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions Implement MLOps best practices including model versioning, A/B testing, and continuous integration/deployment for AI systems Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to insurance and reinsurance business problems Build and foster relationships with business leaders and clients to understand their needs and become a trusted partner in AI innovation About the Team The Data Science & AI (DS & AI) department is part of the Group Data Services. The DS & AI department implements Swiss Re's Technology Strategy and supports its business functions in generating insights and creating data-driven products & solutions, working with both internal business partners and directly with external insurance and corporate clients. About You You're an innovative problem-solver who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about applying cutting-edge AI technologies to solve real-world business challenges. You combine technical expertise with strong communication skills, allowing you to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and build strong relationships with stakeholders. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: Advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, engineering, or related quantitative field 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in a corporate or production environment Strong expertise in modern AI techniques: Prompt engineering and optimization for LLMs Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures ,vector databases and embedding models Conceptual Knowhow of Fine-tuning and adaptation of foundation models AI agents and orchestration frameworks Proficiency in Python with strong software engineering practices (version control, testing, CI/CD, code reviews) Understanding of MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Weights & Biases, etc.) SQL and data manipulation skills. PySpark is a plus. Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Nice to have Experience with Palantir ecosystem Specific experience in the insurance industry For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between CHF 106,000 and CHF 158,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: ​ the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​ the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience. ​ In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
