Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities) Product Support & Improvement Analyze field‑returned products and/or production test failures to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions. Implement changes to product designs, documentation, or test procedures to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and/or reduce cost. Provide technical support to resolve production issues, field service problems, and customer‑reported concerns. Design Optimization & Validation Identify opportunities for product cost reduction through design optimization, material changes, or manufacturing process improvements. Perform and supervise testing of design changes to verify product performance, durability, and compliance with specifications. Evaluate alternate suppliers for components or assemblies to ensure performance, reliability, and fitness for use. Validate that existing product designs continue to meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration and Knowledge Distribution Collaborate with colleagues across R&D, Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Service to define objectives, resolve issues, and drive continuous product improvement. Provide technical information and support to Sales, Marketing, and Service teams as needed to assist with customer inquiries and field issues. Engage with suppliers, distributors, customers, and sales engineers on an occasional basis to discuss technical matters, product performance, or improvement opportunities. Effectively use and contribute to Lincoln Electric’s engineering standards, design methods, and shared bodies of knowledge to enhance product quality, reliability, and customer value. Support the development and refinement of internal processes, documentation, and best practices to strengthen organizational learning and engineering consistency. Basic Requirements Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field required 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience Proficient with Microsoft Office programs Excellent organizational skills. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
