MAINTENANCE/RELIABILITY ENGINEER (MSE) Role purpose: To improve the reliability, availability, and performance of plant and equipment through the development and implementation of effective maintenance strategies, data-driven reliability improvements, and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Your main responsibilities / What you will do: Collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Manager UK to achieve Manufacturing Services and Group Property goals. Coordinate maintenance with production teams and support Health & Safety Standards as Responsible Person when needed. Manage equipment and site improvement projects, organize planned maintenance, and analyze failures with skilled engineers. Prioritise machine issues, negotiate maintenance schedules, deliver programs such as PUWER and engineering inspections, and address risk management. Work with procurement on cost objectives and senior management on funding plans. Ensure OEMs provide required services. Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigating equipment breakdowns using methodologies like 5-Whys, FMEA, or fishbone diagrams to identify and fix the underlying source of a problem. Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM): Designing maintenance schedules and leveraging technologies (such as vibration analysis or thermal imaging) to predict failures before they happen. Data Analysis & Loss Elimination: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to target the most expensive or problematic machinery. CMMS Management: Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms) to track work orders, log equipment history, and source spare parts. Training provided as necessary. Who we are looking for: Technical Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems Expertise in reliability engineering tools (RCA, FMEA, RCM) Experience with CMMS/EAM systems (SAP PM desirable) Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques Analytical Strong data analysis and problem-solving capability Ability to interpret trends and performance metrics Experience with Excel (advanced); Power BI or similar desirable Behavioural Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Structured, methodical, and detail-oriented approach Ability to influence and drive change Proactive and results-focused mindset Qualifications & Experience Essential Level 3 Vocational Qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) Proven experience in a maintenance/reliability engineering role Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Knowledge of UK health & safety legislation Managing Contractors Experience of plant and equipment Relocation. Desirable Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards IAM, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or equivalent NEBOSH / IOSH certification Experience in regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, nuclear, oil & gas) Project Management Skills Additional Information Full-time permanent basis, 37 hours per week Occasional out-of-hours support may be required Involvement in site shutdowns and critical maintenance activities Continuous professional development expected Why should you choose this position?
