Job Title: Senior Software Test Automation Engineer (Indexing Team) Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad/Pune Experience: 3–5 Years Department: Engineering – Indexing & Platform Validation Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join our Indexing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python-based test automation, solid system-level knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms, and a passion for validating complex, distributed software systems. This role requires someone who can quickly learn new technologies, integrate multiple components and systems, and ensure high product quality through robust automation and analytical testing. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and test suites using Python . Validate complex software workflows across multiple interconnected systems and platforms. Develop automated functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests. Investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot product issues across Windows and Linux environments. Work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure high-quality releases. Create and execute SQL queries and scripts to validate application behavior and data integrity. Analyze system logs, network traces, and product telemetry to identify defects and performance bottlenecks. Working knowledge of relational databases and experience writing SQL queries and scripts . Strong understanding of networking fundamentals , including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, ports, firewalls, and network troubleshooting. Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a quality-first mindset. Ability to quickly learn and work effectively in complex technical environments. Desired Qualifications Experience testing distributed systems, enterprise software, or large-scale platforms. Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated testing pipelines. Knowledge of containerized environments and virtualization technologies. Familiarity with performance, scalability, and reliability testing. Experience with backup, recovery, storage, data management, or cyber resilience products is a strong plus. Knowledge of REST APIs and API testing methodologies. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
