Senior SDET / Sr. QA Engineer We are looking for a Sr. SDET (5-10 years) with strong core testing fundamentals, hands-on automation expertise, and a consultative mindset to lead quality initiatives. The role requires ownership across web, API, and/or mobile testing, automation strategy and execution, while working closely with product and engineering stakeholders in an Agile environment. Mandate Skills: 1. JavaScript or Typescript is Must 2. API Automation 3. Playwright 4. AI Work Location: Bangalore Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using : TypeScript or JavaScript for: - Web applications (Playwright or WebdriverIO) - APIs (any relevant automation tools/frameworks) - Plan and execute comprehensive test strategies including test plans, test cases,UAT cycles, and release validation. - Perform functional and exploratory testing across web, API, and mobile layers to identify issues early in the SDLC. - Drive API testing and validation, identifying functional defects, contract gaps, REST standard violations, versioning inconsistencies, and documentation issues. - Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate expected behavior, and resolve defects. - Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews retrospectives) and contribute to sprint quality goals. - Create and maintain test metrics, defect dashboards, progress reports, and communicate status effectively to client stakeholders. - Continuously evaluate and implement best practices in testing, automation, and quality engineering. - Contribute to improving testing processes, standards, and methodologies from a consulting perspective. Qualifications & Core Skills: - 5+ years of experience as an SDET with strong hands-on testing experience. - Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for test automation. - Solid experience in Web application testing, along with API testing, and/or Mobile application testing. - Hands-on experience with automation tools such as: - Web: Playwright / WebdriverIO - API: Any modern API automation framework - Advnatage - Mobile: Appium (preferably with WDIO) - Solid understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle. - Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, payload validation and integration testing concepts. - Experience creating test plans, test strategies, release plans, and owning end-to-end test execution. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in client-facing environments. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile setup with minimal supervision. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
