About the Role: Due to continued growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Piping CAD Design Engineer to join our team on a full time, remote basis. The successful candidate will support the delivery of chemical and process plant projects through the development of both 2D engineering drawings and 3D piping design models. We are looking for an individual with strong capability in either P&ID; drafting or 3D piping modelling, with the willingness and aptitude to develop skills across both disciplines. Key Responsibilities: 2D Design and Drafting: - Prepare, revise, and maintain Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) in accordance with project requirements, engineering standards, and company procedures. - Develop and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and associated process engineering drawings as required. - Incorporate process, piping, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering inputs into P&IDs; and related design documentation. - Ensure all drawings are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. 3D Piping Design and Modelling: - Development and maintenance of 3D plant models for chemical and process facilities. - Production of piping layouts, isometrics, and material take-offs. - Design and routing of piping systems considering operability, maintainability, accessibility, and safety requirements. - Coordination of piping designs with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and electrical disciplines. - Participation in model reviews and design reviews at various project stages (30%, 60%, and 90%). Technical Requirements: - Understanding of plant layout and piping design principles within chemical manufacturing or process industries. - Knowledge of piping support systems and their application. - Basic understanding of structural steelwork and equipment arrangement requirements. - Ability to interpret P&IDs; and translate process requirements into practical piping designs. - Familiarity with piping codes, standards, and engineering best practices applicable to UK and international projects. - Experience using industry-standard CAD and 3D modelling software. Preferred Experience: - Experience in chemical, process, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, or related industrial sectors. - Exposure to both P&ID; drafting and 3D piping modelling. - Knowledge of piping engineering fundamentals, including stress and flexibility considerations. - Previous involvement in multidisciplinary engineering projects. Candidate Profile: - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables. - Good communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment. - Willingness to develop capability across both 2D and 3D design disciplines. .
