Your Impact Cisco CX Engineering is seeking a Software Development Engineer to drive innovation and develop solutions for customers most pressing usecase with a focus on incorporating AI and ML. This role requires deep technical expertise in network automation, full-stack development, and applicable AI use-cases. Key Responsibilities: Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications across the full stack (front-end, back-end, and integration layers).Architect and develop robust systems with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance. AI/ML Integration: Incorporate AI and ML-driven features into product solutions, ensuring real-world applicability and responsible AI practices. Collaboration & Process: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality products.Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipeline management. Quality & Security: Conduct thorough code reviews, automated testing, and maintain comprehensive documentation.Ensure adherence to security best practices, code quality, and maintainability standards. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree with 8+ years of related experience, or Masters degree with 4+ years of related experience, or PhD with 2+ years of related experience.Experience with one or more of the following: Golang, Python, Pytest, SQL (preferably PostgreSQL), Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Experience with one or more of the following: microservices, Kubernetes, containerization, virtualization, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience integrating AI features (AI-assisted code generation), event-driven architecture (Apache Kafka) and real-time data pipelines.Experience with RESTful API design, API security, or hierarchical and relational data modeling. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.Experience with Git, system design, or application performance optimization.Experience with testing, debugging, and technical documentation.Experience with secrets management tools such as HashiCorp Vault or object storage platforms such as MinIO or Amazon S3.Problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing delivery skills. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
