Job Title: Senior Process Engineer / Process Engineering Electronics Manufacturing Location: Shirwal, Satara, Maharashtra Experience: 5 - 9 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Working Days: Monday to Saturday Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Bus facility is available from Pune. Job Summary The Process Engineer PCBA will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes for PCB Assembly (PCBA) operations. The role will focus on SMT, THT, soldering, inspection, testing, NPI, process validation, troubleshooting, yield improvement, and continuous improvement. The Process Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, NPI/Project Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing while meeting customer quality and delivery requirements. Key Responsibilities A. PCBA Process Engineering Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for SMT and PCBA production. Define and maintain process parameters and manufacturing standards. Prepare and update Process Flow, Work Instructions, SOPs and Process Specifications. Analyze process performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Support production teams in resolving process-related issues. B. SMT Process & Programming Support and manage SMT line programming and setup. Review BOM, Gerber data, component specifications and drawings for manufacturability. Optimize solder paste printing, SPI, Pick & Place, Reflow and AOI processes. Monitor solder paste, stencil, component placement and reflow parameters. Troubleshoot SMT defects such as solder bridging, insufficient solder, tombstoning, component shifting and soldering defects. C. THT / Soldering Process Support THT/Through-Hole Assembly processes. Monitor and optimize Wave Soldering / Selective Soldering processes. Establish appropriate soldering parameters and process controls. Analyze soldering defects and implement corrective actions. D. NPI & New Product Introduction Support new products from prototype and pilot stage through mass production. Conduct manufacturing feasibility and process feasibility studies. Develop process flow and manufacturing documentation for new products. Support trial runs, pilot production and process validation. Coordinate with NPI, Design and Project Engineering teams. Ensure smooth transfer of products from NPI to Mass Production. E. Yield & Process Improvement Monitor FPY, yield, rejection, rework and process losses. Conduct Root Cause Analysis for process and production issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive improvement in yield, productivity, cycle time and machine utilization. Identify bottlenecks and support line balancing. Lead Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Reduce scrap, rejection, rework and manufacturing costs. F. Quality & Process Control Work closely with Quality to resolve PCBA process-related issues. Support preparation and implementation of: PFMEA Control Plan Process Flow Work Instructions APQP PPAP Participate in process validation and capability studies. Support internal, customer and process audits. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements. G. Troubleshooting & Production Support Provide technical support to production during daily operations. Investigate machine and process-related problems. Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdown and recurring issues. Analyze production losses and implement permanent corrective actions. Participate in daily production meetings and review process performance. H. Documentation & Engineering Changes Maintain SMT programs, process parameters and engineering records. Prepare process documentation for new and existing products. Support Engineering Change Orders / Engineering Change Notices. Ensure all process changes are properly documented and implemented. Maintain records of process improvements and validation activities. 3. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of PCBA / SMT manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience in SMT production lines. Knowledge of SMT programming and machine setup. Good understanding of SPI, AOI, Reflow, THT and Wave/Selective Soldering. Strong knowledge of NPI and mass production processes. Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP and PPAP. Strong Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis. Experience in yield improvement and process optimization. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement. Good analytical and decision-making skills. Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills. Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 4. Qualification BE / B.Tech / Diploma in: Electronics Engineering Electronics & Telecommunication Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline. 5. Experience 37 years of relevant experience in: PCBA .
