Position Summary - Factory and Assembly / Manufacturing Layout Work methods Industrialization Process study Routing & BOM Accuracy Continual Improvement Main Responsibilities - Design of safe and effective workstation in assembly and machine shop. Design an efficient layout to optimize the floor space utilization. Creation of standard work methods by using VSM Bottleneck analysis by using VSM and action plan to debottleneck it. Design of assembly concept by using various BOMs. Define tooling, fixturing, process required for assembly. During layout, man movement and material movement to be studied in detail. Define machine building standard and generate various SOPs. Knowledge of EBOM, MBOM, variants, models, options and associated attributes, ability to process Engineering change orders. Critical Skills and Personal Attributes - Continuous process improvement: Continuous process improvement works to eliminate waste, improve quality, production time. Work measurement studies: Conduct time and motion studies to analyze work method and identify opportunities for time savings and process optimization. Line Balancing: Do the VSM including VA, NVA and actual data ex: break down, efficiency factor, inventory OHQ etc. Evaluation of work activities to be performed by a person or machine. Define bottleneck as per customer requirement. Understand all operations in detail and plan for balancing of operations with other station or plan for improvement. Workstation design: Design workstation considering safety, Ergonomics, man movement, Material movement to take care of quality, capacity as per company defined standard. Process documentation: Design standard work methods including flow chart with proper industrial signs. Process Layout: Develop a layout which takes care of all equipment, tooling, material flows necessary to provide for an effective product assembly process. The process layout to be drawn in Auto Cad with scale. Support to legal team by providing factory CAD layout. Ergonomics: Intended to reduce operator fatigue and discomfort. Do the ergo analysis and do the necessary changes in the station design. Develop and coach team to perform operations. Maintain business continuity procedures and keep the business continuity manager informed of progress on corrective actions. Perform and report on programme activities as directed. Education and Experience - BE (Industrial / Mechanical) 5 7 years of industry experience in Industrial Engineering. Hands of working is SAP PP module.
