The Sales Engineer Domestic Sales will drive technical sales activities, customer engagement, and business development for Prism's domestic market, reporting to the Domestic Sales Head. This role carries end-to-end ownership of the sales cycle for assigned accounts and territories from lead generation and technical discussions through techno-commercial proposals, negotiation, and order closure. The ideal candidate is a technically grounded sales professional who can understand a customer's process requirements, translate them into a suitable machinery solution, and carry that solution through commercial negotiation to a confirmed order. This is a high-travel, customer-facing role (6070% travel across India) that requires both technical credibility on the shop floor and the relationship-building skills to convert inquiries into long-term customer partnerships. Business Development & Sales Generate new business opportunities and manage domestic sales inquiries from initial contact to order closure. Negotiate commercial terms and close sales orders in line with company policies. Achieve assigned sales targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Technical Sales Prepare techno-commercial offers in coordination with the Sales Coordinator and internal departments. Customer Engagement & Relationship Management Conduct customer visits, plant visits, product presentations, and technical demonstrations. Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, and Project teams to ensure timely technical support and order execution. Marketing & Business Promotion ~ Participate in domestic exhibitions, seminars, and promotional events to generate business leads. Sales Reporting & CRM Management Maintain accurate customer interaction records, sales pipeline, and opportunity status in the CRM system. Track and report on key sales metrics, including revenue achieved, inquiry-to-order conversion ratio, order booking value, and pipeline value. Experience 15 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in technical / industrial B2B sales.Experience in the pharmaceutical machinery industry is preferred; candidates with experience in process equipment, packaging machinery, or other capital equipment manufacturing will also be considered.Demonstrated track record of managing the sales cycle from inquiry to order closure in an engineering / technical sales environment. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in sales or technical domains are an added advantage, though not mandatory. Strong understanding of technical sales and industrial products. Ability to understand customer URS and recommend appropriate techno-commercial solutions. Knowledge of quotation preparation, commercial terms, and contract negotiations. Basic knowledge of engineering measurements and dimensional interpretation. Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and plant layouts. Basic understanding of pharmaceutical machinery validation documents, including DQ, IQ, OQ, FAT, SAT, and GMP documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to prepare technical presentations, proposals, and sales reports. Willingness to travel extensively (6070%) for customer visits, meetings, factory inspections, and exhibitions. Customer relationship management skills. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. Fluency in English and Hindi is required; Gujarati is preferred for effective communication with domestic customers and internal teams. Prior experience selling capital equipment or process machinery to pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, chemical, or food industry clients. Familiarity with the Ahmedabad / Gujarat industrial ecosystem and the pan-India pharmaceutical machinery buyer network. Experience participating in domestic trade exhibitions and industry events. Working knowledge of CRM tools for pipeline and opportunity management. Track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets in a technical / industrial sales role.
