Role description We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer Palo Alto & Data Centre Migration contractor to support enterprise firewall operations, security solution implementation, and large-scale data center migration initiatives. This role will be responsible for Palo Alto firewall administration, rule configuration, change implementation, troubleshooting, and migration activities associated with data center consolidations, cloud transformations, and business integration projects. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, network security technologies, change management processes, and enterprise data center migration programs. Experience supporting cloud landing zones, network segmentation, and cross-functional project delivery teams is highly desired. Key Responsibilities Palo Alto Firewall Operations Configure, implement, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls in large enterprise environments. Create, modify, and optimize security policies, NAT policies, security profiles, and application-based controls. Perform firewall rule reviews and risk assessments to ensure adherence to corporate security standards. Troubleshoot network connectivity, application access, routing, NAT, and security policy issues. Support firewall lifecycle management, upgrades, and platform migrations. Analyze Palo Alto logs and traffic flows to identify and resolve security and operational issues. Data Center Migration Support Support enterprise data center migration and consolidation initiatives. Analyze existing firewall policies and network dependencies prior to migration activities. Migrate and validate firewall policies, NAT configurations, and network security controls between legacy and target environments. Coordinate migration activities with network, server, application, and infrastructure teams. Support application cutovers, connectivity validation, and post-migration stabilization activities. Assist with IP address transitions, network re-segmentation, and security policy migration efforts. Security Architecture & Integration Partner with project teams to implement security controls for new initiatives. Support security integration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and business transformation programs. Assist in developing repeatable and automated deployment processes for firewall and security technologies. Provide technical expertise during project planning, design reviews, and implementation phases. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls in enterprise environments. Strong expertise with: Security Policies NAT Policies Application-ID User-ID URL Filtering Threat Prevention Panorama Experience with: Application Segments Segment Groups App Connectors Service Edges Access Policies Identity Provider (IdP) Integrations SAML Authentication Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Experience implementing and supporting firewall / ZPA changes in production environments. Experience troubleshooting Layer 3 through Layer 7 network and security issues. Experience supporting enterprise data center migration projects.
