We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to manage and monitor our production SQL Server environment supporting U.S. healthcare domain applications. This is not a backup/restore-only DBA role. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on knowledge of SQL Server administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Key Responsibilities Monitor SQL Server health, performance, storage, and database activity. Troubleshoot long-running queries, blocking, deadlocks, high CPU/I/O, and performance issues. Analyze and troubleshoot SQL Server transaction log growth and identify the root cause. Manage and troubleshoot SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, and scheduled tasks. Perform database maintenance, backup/restore, and recovery activities. Monitor database capacity and proactively identify potential issues. Analyze execution plans, indexes, statistics, and queries to improve performance. Work with developers/application teams to troubleshoot SQL-related issues. Maintain SQL Server best practices, security, and operational standards. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Good knowledge of T-SQL, Query Store, execution plans, indexing, blocking and deadlock analysis. Experience trouble shooting long-running queries and transaction log growth. Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs and monitoring. Good understanding of backup/recovery and SQL Server maintenance. Production SQL Server support experience is preferred. Ideal candidate: A hands-on SQL Server DBA who can monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve SQL Server issues, not someone focused only on routine backup and restore activities.
