Job OverviewMicrosoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Hyderabad for the GitHub Enterprise Server release team. This role focuses on the engineering systems that help GitHub Enterprise Server produce, validate, certify, and deliver reliable software artifacts to enterprise customers worldwide.The position sits at the center of the GHES release lifecycle. You will work on operating system images, containers, appliance artifacts, package generation, certification workflows, integration test environments, and release infrastructure. The role also involves distributing GHES artifacts through major cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP.This is a strong opportunity for an experienced software engineer who enjoys production engineering, release automation, distributed systems, troubleshooting, and improving engineering reliability. You will work with platform, infrastructure, release, and product teams to identify problems early, simplify delivery processes, strengthen observability, and improve confidence in every release.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and improve systems used to create GHES operating system images, containers, and appliance artifacts across platform, infrastructure, and application layers.Design, maintain, and enhance release pipelines responsible for package generation, validation, and certification.Build and operate integration testing environments that support continuous and reliable validation of GHES.Improve continuous integration quality by increasing test reliability, strengthening issue detection, and helping teams triage and resolve failures.Support publication and distribution of GHES release artifacts through Azure, AWS, and GCP.Work with engineering teams across platform, infrastructure, release, and product functions to improve release readiness and troubleshooting.Perform root-cause analysis for build, testing, certification, and package delivery problems.Improve release workflows through automation, observability, repeatability, security, and compliance practices.Lead technical improvements that reduce release complexity and increase engineering productivity.Support the complete release lifecycle, from build creation and package generation through validation, certification, and customer delivery.Provide operational support for release infrastructure and investigate critical production issues affecting software delivery.Required SkillsCandidates should have substantial professional software engineering experience and a proven record of maintaining and delivering production software. For the Senior Software Engineer level, the posting specifies 7 or more years of relevant experience.
