Meet the TeamThe Cisco IQ and Validation team is building intelligent automation and validation capabilities powered by Agentic AI. Our engineers work with Python, APIs, cloud-native technologies, LLMs, MCP, and workflow systems to bring AI-driven network validation into production. You will work alongside experienced software engineers, architects, AI specialists, and network automation experts in a collaborative global team. This is an opportunity to build real-world AI capabilities while developing strong foundations in modern software engineering and distributed systems. Your ImpactDevelop and maintain backend services and AI-enabled automation capabilities that support Validation and Cisco IQ. Build APIs, database-backed services, workflow components, and integrations that allow AI agents to interact with tools and enterprise services. Contribute to MCP integrations, LLM-powered workflows, agent tools, and validation capabilities while learning from senior engineers and architects. Write unit tests, troubleshoot software issues, and support deployment and operation of services in Kubernetes and cloud environments. Participate in design discussions and contribute to improving code quality, engineering practices, and platform reliability. Minimum Qualifications5+ years of professional software development experience.2+ years of hands-on Python development experience.1+ year of experience developing REST APIs, backend services, database-backed applications, or automation systems.Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, C#, or Rust.Experience with at least one of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms, or production application deployment.Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, A2A, AI-enabled applications, or Agentic AI concepts. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
