We are looking for highly skilled Senior / Principal TAC Engineers who thrive on solving complex customer challenges at scale and want to work at the intersection of Routing, Security, SD-WAN, and SASE technologies. If you enjoy diving deep into packet-level troubleshooting, working directly with engineering teams, influencing product quality, and handling real-world customer deployments, we would like to talk. Role Overview As a Senior/Principal TAC Engineer, you will become a key technical leader within Versa's global support organization, responsible for troubleshooting and driving resolution for highly complex customer production issues across large-scale SD-WAN and SASE deployments. This role goes beyond traditional support. You will act as an escalation expert, collaborate closely with engineering, reproduce customer environments in lab setups, identify product defects, influence product improvements, and become a trusted advisor for strategic customers. You will solve problems that sit at the convergence of: Advanced RoutingNetwork SecuritySD-WANSASECloud networkingAuthentication and identity systemsLarge-scale enterprise deployments What You'll DoOwn and drive resolution of highly complex customer production issues involving routing, security, SD-WAN and SASE environmentsTroubleshoot and analyze customer issues across large-scale enterprise and service-provider deploymentsPerform deep packet, protocol and traffic-flow analysisReproduce complex customer environments in labs and validate behaviorPartner closely with Engineering to isolate defects, validate fixes, and improve product qualityDrive technical escalations across multiple teams and stakeholdersParticipate in root cause analysis and provide strategic recommendationsDevelop knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guidesMentor junior engineers and help elevate technical capabilities across the teamBecome a subject matter expert in one or more technical domains Required Experience6+ years hands-on experience in TAC, Network Engineering, Escalation Engineering or Customer Success rolesStrong preference for engineers from networking/security product companiesPrior TAC experience in networking, firewall, SD-WAN, SASE or cloud vendors preferredExperience supporting customer production environments at enterprise scale Technical Skills Routing Domain BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VRF, Route redistribution, Policy-based routing, ECMP, NAT, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, GRE, IPsec, DMVPN, QoS, HA mechanisms, convergence and packet forwarding. Packet analysis: tcpdump, Wireshark, PCAP analysis and flow troubleshooting Technical Skills Security Domain NGFW, IPS/IDS, URL filtering, Secure Web Gateway, ZTNA, CASB, SASE, SSL/TLS inspection, VPN technologies and policy troubleshooting. Authentication technologies: LDAP, Active Directory, RADIUS, TACACS+, SAML, OAuth, MFA. PKI, DNS and certificate infrastructure knowledge SASE / SD-WAN Experience Preferred SASE platforms, SD-WAN deployments, cloud-delivered security, service chaining, cloud on-ramp architectures and AWS/Azure/GCP networking What Makes You Stand Out Proven experience handling complex escalationsStrong debugging mindsetPassion for packet-level troubleshootingAbility to learn rapidlyMentoring and technical leadership experience Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related technical field.
