The Role Were seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to build the intelligence layer of our modular indoor farming systems. This is not a maintenance role. You will own the complete electronics and embedded stack of our farming units. You will be responsible for setting up the architecture, building a large part of it yourself. About Us Humanity must produce more food in the next four decades than we have in the last 8,000 years of agriculture combined. At Cosy, we are redesigning farming as a controlled, modular, and scalable system built next to where people live. We believe food production should be precise, reliable, and repeatable - not dependent on weather or distance. We are building environmental control machines that grow food. Location: Goregaon, Mumbai. Who You Are You are a hands-on embedded systems builder. Youve shipped real hardware. Youve debugged field failures. You understand that controlling physical systems is very different from writing software. You think in systems: Sensors Control Logic Actuators Safety Data Deployment. You care about reliability more than features. You are comfortable making architecture decisions. You take ownership. What Youll Own Electronics hardware PCB design from schematic to bring-up, and the control panel that runs each unit (power, protection, wiring, connectors) Firmwar e - real-time control in C/C++ on ESP32 microcontrollers: sensing, actuation, fail-safes, OTA updates Control logic the algorithms that actually grow the crop: dosing, calibration routines, climate behaviour, safety interlocks Connectivity MQTT/cloud telemetry, alarms, and the data interface between firmware and our farm software Production and field - testing and QC of every unit before dispatch, commissioning at hotel sites, debugging live deployments Engineering standards schematics, wiring documentation, firmware architecture and version control, so the system outlives any one person Requirements 3-6 years of experience in embedded systems / hardware automation Strong proficiency in C/C++ and python for microcontrollers Experience working with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi or similar) Understanding of real-time control systems and non-blocking architecture Experience integrating sensors and controlling actuators Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, MQTT) Basic understanding of power electronics and hardware debugging Experience deploying hardware systems outside of lab environments Strongly Preferred RTOS experience Experience in robotics, EV systems, industrial automation, or IoT hardware startups Experience designing systems that require high reliability Exposure to cloud integration for IoT systems What We Offer High ownership from day one Direct impact on core product architecture Opportunity to build a scalable environmental control system from the ground up Collaborative, hands-on startup environment Fresh herbs to take home .

144,883 engineer jobs are open right now

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
