Our Shared Engineering Services team is at the forefront of validating and releasing our cutting-edge Simcenter portfolio products a comprehensive suite of simulation software and test solutions that enable companies to predict performance across domains ranging from 3D CAE to system simulation and physical testing. About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software QA Engineer (Contractor) to join our dynamic Quality Center of Excellence on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our industry-leading simulation software products within a multiplatform environment. You will work closely with product management, software development, and applications engineering teams bringing a mindset that is efficient, collaborative, thoughtful, and results-driven. Domain: Desktop Simulation Software (Simcenter Portfolio) Focus Areas: Functional Testing Automation Performance & Security Testing Key Responsibilities As a Software QA Engineer (Contractor), you will: Execute end-to-end QA activities across the software development lifecycle to ensure high product quality and release readiness. Review requirements, user stories, and design documents to ensure testability and develop effective test scenarios and automated test suites. Design and perform manual and automated functional, stress, and performance testing, with clear documentation of results and findings. Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and provide clear reproduction steps using logs and diagnostic tools. Collaborate with Development, DevOps, Product Management, and Documentation teams to support quality objectives and timely issue resolution. Develop scalable test automation for high-performance environments, covering complex UI, graphics-intensive, and engineering workflows using tools such as Pytest, Selenium, Ranorex, Squish, Eggplant, or similar. Proactively translate manual test cases into efficient automated scripts to improve coverage, speed up feedback cycles, while designing tests that effectively validate new and existing functionality. Promote QA best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across product and test development. Required Qualifications We're looking for someone who brings: Education : Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering, or a related technical field Experience : 13 years of professional experience in Software Quality Engineering Domain Knowledge : Exposure to or experience with desktop simulation products such as Simcenter (CAD/CAE software) Scripting Skills : Proficiency in Python and/or C, or similar Automation Experience : Hands-on experience with frameworks/tools such as Pytest, Ranorex, Selenium, or similar Preferred Qualifications These qualities will help you stand out: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player Familiarity with multiple operating systems: Windows, UNIX/Linux Experience with tools such as JIRA, Xray, Git, and automation frameworks Understanding of cross-platform software testing environments and methodologies .
