Job Title Research Scientist Function / Department Drug Discovery Employment Type Full time, Permanent Location On-site POSITION OVERVIEW The candidate will identify and evaluate new therapeutic indications for approved drugs using pharmacological, preclinical, and clinical evidence. The role involves literature mining, target identification, mechanism-of-action studies, safety assessment, and preparation of scientific reports for drug repurposing projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Conduct comprehensive literature searches for drug repurposing opportunities. - Analyze pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity data of approved drugs. - Evaluate the applicability of drugs in new indications based on molecular mechanisms. - Review preclinical (in vitro and in vivo) and clinical evidence for repurposing candidates. - Assess translational potential from animal studies to human applications. - Prepare scientific reports, review articles, and regulatory summaries. - Perform target-pathway analyses involving inflammation, fibrosis, oxidative stress, and signaling pathways. - Evaluate safety profiles, contraindications, and limitations of repurposed drugs. - Collaborate with medicinal chemists, clinicians, and regulatory teams. REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience - M.Pharm (Pharmacology) or Pharm.D - Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmacology, preclinical research, medical writing, or clinical research - Experience in literature review, drug repurposing, and mechanism-based research is preferred Technical Skills - Strong knowledge of pharmacology and pathophysiology - Drug repurposing strategies and translational medicine concepts - Literature databases: PubMed, Scopus, Embase - Understanding of FDA, EMA, and CDSCO regulatory pathways - Knowledge of pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and pharmacodynamics - Scientific writing and data interpretation - Statistical analysis and data presentation - Experience with animal-to-human dose conversion and preclinical evaluation Core Competencies - Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex, multi-modal datasets and derive actionable insights. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical findings to a multidisciplinary, non-technical audience. - Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams. .
