Strong experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering. Must-have expertise in Cloud Platforms (Azure or GCP), Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes (AKS/GKE), and Terraform. Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and Azure DevOps. Strong experience with containerization, Kubernetes deployments, scaling, upgrades, and environment management. Experience with Helm for deployment templating and Kubernetes package management. Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation. Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and cloud networking. Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native monitoring tools. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning, secret management, compliance, and security automation. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
