Chef (Thai Food)

We are in need of a Thai Chef to join the busy team working at Lotus Thai Restaurant located in central Taupo. You will be joining a great team of busy chefs and others who prepare and make some of the best Authentic Thai meals in the Taupo region. Duties will include: examining foodstuffs to ensure quality regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment preparing and cooking food seasoning food during cooking portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes storing food in temperature controlled facilities preparing food to meet special dietary requirements Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures Enforcing hygiene regulations may plan menus and estimate food requirements may train other kitchen staff and apprentices Preparing, seasoning and cooking dishes to the business standard Liaise with Head Chef to fill in for sickness, holidays etc You will be working closely with the Head Chef and after some time there may be room to move into a more senior role.
