About the Job As the Finance Manager , you will be responsible for leading and managing the overall finance and accounting functions of the Cooperative. This role plays an important part in ensuring that the Cooperative maintains a strong and sustainable financial position while complying with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Management and the Board of Directors to provide financial reports, analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making. Your key responsibilities will include managing the preparation of financial reports, budgets, cash flow, audits, taxation and internal controls, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies, procedures and regulations. The successful candidate should possess strong leadership and analytical skills, demonstrate high integrity, and have the ability to manage a team while ensuring that the Cooperative's finance functions are carried out efficiently and effectively. Job Description Lead and manage the overall finance and accounting functions of the Cooperative. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports and other financial reports. Develop and monitor budgets, financial forecasts and cash flow projections. Monitor the Cooperative’s financial performance and provide financial analysis and recommendations to Management and the Board. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, tax regulations and relevant cooperative regulations. Manage the annual budgeting and financial planning process. Oversee cash management, payments, collections and cost control. Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies and procedures. Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes and ensure timely follow-up on audit findings. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, regulatory authorities and other relevant stakeholders. Provide financial advice and strategic insights to support business planning and decision-making. Lead, supervise and develop the finance and accounting team. Undertake any other duties as assigned by Management or the Board from time to time. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA or equivalent will be an added advantage. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting, preferably with experience in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of MPERS/MFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, taxation and audit. Good understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations and statutory requirements. Experience in cooperatives, GLCs or similar organisations will be an added advantage. Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant accounting or ERP systems.
