About the role Palmy Auto Parts Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Automotive Parts & Vehicle Sales Consultant to join our team in Palmerston North Central Manawatu. This is a full-time position based at our central location, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth across our automotive parts and vehicle offerings. As a Sales Consultant, you will be the face of our business, building relationships with customers and providing expert guidance on automotive products and services that meet their needs. Key responsibilities Provide expert advice to customers on automotive parts, vehicle specifications and product compatibility Process customer inquiries and sales transactions efficiently and professionally Develop and maintain strong relationships with both retail and trade customers Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate automotive products and solutions Maintain accurate inventory knowledge and assist with stock management as required Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the business Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant health and safety regulations Support the delivery of outstanding customer service and handle customer inquiries or concerns professionally Stay current with product knowledge, industry trends and competitive offerings What we're looking for Proven experience in automotive parts sales, vehicle sales or a related automotive trade role Strong knowledge of automotive products, vehicle components and mechanical specifications Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and long-term relationships Demonstrated sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and computer software Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work Valid driver's licence is advantageous Relevant qualifications in automotive sales or trades are preferred but not essential if you have strong practical experience What we offer At Palmy Auto Parts Ltd, we value our employees and offer a competitive package designed to attract and retain talented team members.
