About the role Zurich Insurance Malaysia is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer, APAC to join our growing technology team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur , offering the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure and deployment systems that support our operations across the Asia-Pacific region. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging development and operations, ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and maintenance of our applications and systems. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and performance of our insurance technology platforms, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Key responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software delivery processes Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and containerised environments to ensure high availability and scalability Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment workflows and reduce time-to-market for new features and updates Monitor system performance, security, and reliability, implementing proactive measures to prevent outages and data loss Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to standardise and automate infrastructure provisioning Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues, providing technical support to development and operations teams Implement and manage security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management Document systems, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency Collaborate with cross-functional teams across APAC regions to ensure consistent deployment practices and standards What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Minimum 5 years of experience in a DevOps or similar infrastructure engineering role Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Solid experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling Understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and networking concepts Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, or Splunk Knowledge of database systems and backup/recovery strategies Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and regional teams Preferred: Experience in the financial services or insurance industry Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate What we offer At Zurich Insurance Malaysia, we are committed to supporting the professional development and well-being of our employees.
