Your Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will: Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles Manage and automate server configurations using Puppet across development, staging, and production environments Build and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tools Support deployment and scaling of PHP and Golang applications in production environments Implement and maintain NATS messaging systems for distributed application communication Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability Implement security best practices across infrastructure, including IAM policies, network security, and compliance requirements Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency Work closely with development teams to improve deployment processes and resolve infrastructure-related issues Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production incidents Essential Criteria 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch, IAM, and CloudFormation/Terraform Proficiency with Puppet for infrastructure automation and configuration management Strong experience with TypeScript, Python & Golang for building tools and services Working knowledge of PHP applications and their deployment requirements Version Control: Advanced knowledge of Git and GitHub, including GitHub Actions for CI/CD Messaging Systems: Experience with NATS or similar message queue systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis) Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes) Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages Strong understanding of networking concepts, load balancers, DNS, and CDNs with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar) Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude when it comes to troubleshooting and resolving production issues. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
