ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY UNCLEBOB is an established and growing Malaysian brand with an expanding network of company-owned and franchised outlets. As our business continues to grow, we are strengthening our Group Finance function to support a larger, more structured and professionally managed organisation. We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and hands-on Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, planning, controls and finance team development. Working closely with the CEO and senior management, you will help turn financial information into better decisions and build a strong foundation for the Group’s next stage of growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Group Financial Reporting Lead accurate and timely monthly management accounts, consolidated financial statements and management reports. Establish and enforce a disciplined monthly closing timetable across the Group. Review Group, company and outlet results; investigate significant variances and issues. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements, and coordinate with external professional advisers. Financial Planning & Business Performance Lead annual budgeting, periodic forecasting and cash-flow projections. Analyse company and outlet performance, including sales, margins, costs and profitability. Develop practical dashboards and translate financial information into clear management actions. Evaluate new outlets, capital expenditure, expansion plans and other business initiatives. Internal Controls & Risk Management Design and implement appropriate financial policies, controls and standard operating procedures. Strengthen controls over cash, inventory, purchasing, payments, revenue, receivables, intercompany transactions and capital expenditure. Improve reconciliation across outlet sales, inventory, delivery platforms, e-payments and accounting records. Identify financial and operational risks and drive corrective action with relevant departments. Treasury & Working Capital Manage Group cash flow, working capital, banking facilities and funding requirements. Oversee receivables, payables, inventory levels and intercompany balances. Maintain effective banking relationships and support facility applications and renewals. Systems & Process Improvement Improve the reliability of accounting and ERP processes, controls and data integrity. Drive standardisation and automation to reduce manual work and improve reporting efficiency. Work closely with operations, purchasing, inventory and systems teams to integrate financial and operational information. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach and develop the Group’s finance and accounting team. Establish clear responsibilities, deadlines and performance expectations. Build technical capability, ownership and accountability across the team. Develop a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued expansion. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, MICPA or equivalent is strongly preferred. Membership of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, where applicable. At least 8–12 years of relevant experience, including substantial exposure to finance leadership, financial controlling or group reporting. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, taxation, audit, cash-flow management and internal controls. Proven experience supporting multiple companies, business units or operating locations. Experience in retail, food and beverage, manufacturing, franchising or another high-volume, multi-outlet business is advantageous. Practical ERP experience is essential; experience with Odoo or another integrated ERP platform is advantageous. Exposure to business expansion, corporate restructuring, financial due diligence or a professionally governed organisation will be highly regarded. Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills, with a hands-on and ownership-driven working style. Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage. THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR You are more than a reporting accountant.
