Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Reporting & Analytical Review Manage and ensure timely completion of monthly and annual financial closing activities. Review and submit management accounts, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. Supervise accounting entries and transactions performed by finance team members. Lead, coach, and review the work of junior finance staff (AP, AR, and GL functions) to enhance departmental efficiency and accuracy. Monitor project costs and ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards. 2. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic rolling forecasts (monthly, quarterly, and mid-year). Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast targets. Conduct detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) to identify key drivers, performance trends, and opportunities for cost optimization. Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making. 3. Cash Flow Forecasting & Treasury Management Monitor daily banking transactions and utilization of banking facilities. Manage working capital requirements, including oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). Review and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts covering 6- to 12-month periods on a quarterly basis. Support treasury activities to ensure adequate liquidity and effective cash management. 4. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Requirements Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of statutory audits and tax submissions. Ensure accurate computation and filing of corporate income tax, withholding tax, SST, and other applicable taxes in compliance with LHDN and Royal Malaysian Customs requirements. Ensure full compliance with Malaysia's E-Invoicing regulations and related reporting obligations. Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business. 5. Statutory Audit Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and audit-related reports. Coordinate audit activities and assign responsibilities to finance team members to facilitate efficient audit execution. Assist in the preparation and review of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. Liaise with external auditors to resolve audit queries and ensure timely completion of the audit process. 6. Internal Audit Coordinate with internal auditors during audit engagements. Facilitate the provision of information, documentation, and responses required for internal audit reviews. Support implementation and monitoring of corrective actions arising from audit findings. 7. SOP, Internal Controls & ISO Compliance Review and improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate financial risks. Support the implementation and enhancement of ERP systems and other finance-related digital initiatives. Ensure compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and internal control frameworks. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and support related audits and certification activities. 8. Ad Hoc Responsibilities Undertake additional duties, special projects, and assignments as directed by Management or the immediate superior. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA, or equivalent) is an advantage. Minimum 5—8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), taxation, SST, and E-Invoicing requirements. Experience in project accounting, budgeting, treasury management, and audit coordination. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
