The City of Cherry Hills Village is seeking applicants for the position of Parks Maintenance Worker/Heavy Equipment Operator. This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City parks and trails, as well as a variety of other maintenance tasks within the Public Works department. Superior teamwork and customer service skills are essential. Related experience is preferred. The 2026 hourly salary range is $25.49 - $34.41 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package. There is 10% on-call pay for snow removal duties during the winter months. City operations are currently located at 2101 W Quincy Ave, Englewood. This position is open until filled. The Parks crew works a four ten-hour day schedule year-round, typically Tuesdays- Fridays. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: Use a variety of light and heavy equipment (i.e. chainsaw, wood chipper, trail sweeper, backhoe, skid steer, mower, loader, snow removal equipment, tractor, spraying equipment, single axle truck, hand tools, power tools, trailers, and water equipment) to maintain City parks, trails, and open space. Perform the maintenance of City-owned park facilities and grounds, street rights-of-way including tree plantings, and landscaped facilities such as entry features and islands. Plow snow, sand streets, sweep streets, gutters, and sidewalks, clean and maintain ditches, clean culverts, pick up trash and debris, and cut branches. Maintains grounds and turf in all parks, trails, and street rights of ways and City facilities by mowing, trimming, weeding, and grooming. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years’ experience in park or ground maintenance preferred. Possession or the ability to obtain a valid class “B” commercial driver’s license within three months. Must be able to obtain Colorado Pesticide Applicator’s License within the first year of employment.
