We are seeking a Lead Test Automation Engineer in Python to join a cutting-edge team building a driverless robotaxi service. In this position, you will spearhead the definition, execution, and analysis of tests that mitigate evolving risks encountered during the development of automated driving systems. You will shape the technical direction for the test automation function, mentor a team of engineers, and drive strategic initiatives that directly influence the safety, reliability, and performance of autonomous vehicles, addressing a critical bottleneck in the development process. Responsibilities Define and own the test strategy, drawing from various sources, including legal compliance, competitor road collisions, and emerging capabilities Oversee and execute tests across different modalities such as simulation, closed course vehicle, and HiL bench testing Lead the analysis of test results to evaluate both the effectiveness of the test and the performance of the AV Communicate and document test results and strategic insights to leadership and relevant stakeholders Architect and develop test cases and frameworks within various test tools Produce and review detailed test reports, including analysis and insights communication Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive alignment to ensure testing capabilities remain adaptable to evolving development risks Mentor and guide engineers, establishing best practices, code quality standards, and processes across the team Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and technical growth of team members Requirements 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on automated driving systems 1+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives within a test automation environment Extensive background in defining and executing testing strategies for automated driving systems in simulation Advanced proficiency in Python as the core scripting language for AV simulation tools, covering scenario generation, test automation, and analyzing test result logs Expertise in designing scalable test automation frameworks and architectures Deep knowledge of data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib Skills in creating and optimizing SQL queries Capability to analyze test results, derive strategic insights, and effectively communicate findings to both technical teams and leadership Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level) Nice to have Hands-on experience with HiL and track testing Familiarity with Applied Intuition or comparable simulation tool suites Knowledge of C++ Background in Bash We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
